In a world where vampires are considered superior and lycans are considered inferior, Seojoon is a half-lycan considered an outsider to both lycans and humans alike. Still, he’s determined to keep his head up as a firefighter in a society that doesn’t recognize his efforts. As a vampire, Ray doesn’t understand that pride, but he is nevertheless determined to take Seojoon overseas. But the two of them have already splintered apart before, and Seojoon isn’t ready to take a leap of faith just yet. As society and Ray both pressure him into a corner, Seojoon finds himself stumbling into the dark of the night, where he just might find his damnation…or salvation.

I'd give this 5 out 10 stars, it was very mid for me which is unfortunate because it crossed off a lot of the tags and genres that I like, plus I genuinely really liked the first 20-30 chapters, unfortunately, it did start to trail off and get boring later on........ In my opinion, this Manhwa had loads of potential but missed the mark several times, I'll list a few things that I thought could've been better ~ The worldbuilding: I thought the worldbuilding was actually good at first and for the most part it still is but it's still pretty shabby as well which I started to notice in later chapters, for example, WHY is there so much discrimination against Lycans? It just doesn't fully make sense to me which is a huge problem because that's a key factor for the plot of the story, I get that there is a faction of Lycans that are terrorists BUT there was still discrimination BEFORE all that, so why? Plus, why are humans ONLY discriminating against Lycans, why not vampires who are known for trafficking humans to use as slaves??? Anyway, the whole discrimination against Lycans just doesn't seem very well thought out to me.

The Characters: The characters are okay, maybe a tad underwhelming. I didn't really enjoy the arcs given to Ray and Seojoon, even the side characters like Jinho were very predictable, boring and unenjoyable to read. Most of them are written kinda poorly, for example, Jinho's character had a very unsurprising and disappointing story arc, there was NO creativity or spice when it came to writing him, I KNEW everything that was going to happen regarding his storyline with Seojoon, also, I WISH we would've gotten more time on setting up Seojoon and Jinho's friendship, it was stated they've known and worked together FOR YEARS, so they are clearly close, yet we don't really see any of that, we get that Jinho has a crush, but don't fully know why, like what about Seojoon does he like? Why is he so obsessed with him? Make it make sense to me, SHOW ME WHY I should be invested in this love triangle!!! Moving on, I think we should've gotten a proper explanation as to WHY Ray abandoned Seojoon 3 years ago, it was KINDA explained but not really, not in a satisfying way that added depth or layers to either of the characters, and this might be an unpopular opinion but the WHOLE relationship between Seojoon and Ray feels so forced and stale, like there's no chemistry or fluffy moments where I see them really bond, ugh.... And Seojoon's character definitely deteriorated as the story went on, at first he was a feisty power bottom who saved lives and could think for himself, then all the sudden he starts ONLY listening to Ray and becomes SUCH a damsel... And Ray's character was also a letdown, basically, he has no real power, he's just a pawn who can barely help Seojoon, IN FACT, Ray entering his life again RUINED IT, he became a target BECAUSE OF RAY, it's hard to ship Ray with Seojoon because Ray's not a good fit for him, he's too dangerous, he has too much drama and baggage, Jinho is the safer and healthier option and they had so much chemistry because they've known each other longer and work together........ The last character I'll talk about is Arthur, his motivation is SO WEAK and not thought out. We know that Arthur is obsessed with Ray and considers him his masterpiece BUT NEVER SEE how or why that came to be, we never see their backstory or understand WHY Arthur cares so much about Ray, which is a HUGE problem because he's basically the main villain so his character and motivations NEED TO MAKE SENSE, ugh😒.......

The plot:I liked the plot at first, the stakes felt high and interesting but again, it started to feel underwhelming as the story continued as well as predictable. I don't like the direction the author chose to take it because it seems like there were so many better routes and possibilities that would've proved MORE interesting to read but the author chose the laziest options. IN CONCLUSION ~ Read it if you want but I couldn't really recommend it, again, it was not original or that creative, it was decent at first but became flimsy later on.

- I’d rate this a solid 5/10—it was painfully average for me. It had a lot of the elements I usually enjoy, and I genuinely liked the first 20-30 chapters, but it lost momentum and became increasingly boring as it went on.
The Worldbuilding:
- This manhwa had a lot of potential, especially in the beginning. The worldbuilding seemed intriguing at first, but as the story progressed, it started to fall apart. One glaring issue was the discrimination against Lycans, which is a major plot point but feels poorly explained. There’s some justification given—like the Lycan terrorist faction—but the prejudice existed even before that. Why? And why are Lycans singled out when vampires are trafficking humans as slaves? The lack of depth here really weakens the foundation of the story and made it harder to take the plot seriously.

The Characters:
- The characters are, unfortunately, one of the weakest points of this manhwa. While they had potential, most of them ended up being predictable and underwhelming. Jinho’s story arc, for example, lacked any kind of surprise or creativity. His crush on Seojoon is clear, but the story never explores why he feels that way or why their relationship matters. For a love triangle to work, there needs to be more buildup and emotional depth—this just felt shallow.

- Seojoon and Ray’s dynamic was another letdown. Their relationship lacked chemistry, and Ray’s backstory—particularly why he left Seojoon three years ago—was never fully explored. Without a proper explanation, their bond felt forced and flat. Worse, Seojoon’s character took a turn for the worse as the story went on. He started out as a strong, feisty character who could hold his own but eventually devolved into a damsel who relied entirely on Ray.
- Ray didn’t fare much better. He was written as a passive character with little real power, and his presence actively made Seojoon’s life worse by dragging him into more danger. It’s hard to root for them as a couple when their dynamic feels so unbalanced and unhealthy. Jinho, on the other hand, seemed like the safer and more supportive option, but the story doesn’t give him the development he needs to feel like a viable contender.
- And then there’s Arthur, the supposed main villain. His obsession with Ray is central to the story, but his motivations are paper-thin. We’re told he sees Ray as his “masterpiece,” but we never get any real insight into why he feels that way or what their history entails. For a villain to work, their actions and goals need to make sense, and Arthur’s just don’t.
The Plot:
- The story started strong, with high stakes and an engaging premise, but it quickly lost steam. As the chapters went on, it became predictable and unoriginal. There were so many interesting directions the author could have taken, but instead, they leaned on safe, lazy choices that made the story feel stale.

Final Thoughts:
- While the premise and early chapters showed promise, the story failed to deliver on its potential. Between the shallow characters, flimsy worldbuilding, and predictable plot, it’s hard to recommend this manhwa. If you’re curious, give it a shot, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
Honestly... Like someone already said: Quite boring. It shouldn't be, but for some reason it just is... Stiff and boring.
Things just happen, but for some reason you don't feel the emotion of those things. Maybe it's art? Or maybe because there has been already quite a lot of lore drop about everything in just 15 chapters, while not any time has been spent thinking about it - just onto a next info about society or a person.

YESSIR, ANOTHER SUPERNATURAL YAOI W SMUT 🔥
(idek if this is love triangle, prolly not bc both men seem to be attracted to the guy in the middle)

Another supernatural Yaoi I'll be adding to my list, but the cover makes my love triangle trope senses tingle. I hope that's not it. 😌
It’s alright But vampire man is giving major red flags , at least for me.
Vampire ❌ Werewolf definitely a love triangle, I already love it. Thanks for uploading. 🤗

Ah the second ml syndrome is strong in this one. Controlling stalker vampire that doesn’t care about others feelings or human that’s sweet and respects consent not taking advantage of drunkenness

ur mom knowin damn well it was u yet she set off the bomb or wtv is crazyyy
Coworker understands consent, makes sure MC is safe, buys him hangover drinks, and checks in on him the next day. I'm rooting for him instead of pushy vampire guy.
I'm liking the vampire dude less and less for the love interest. Giving someone an aphrodisiac without their consent ain't it my guy...
Huh so that needle is a blood sampler?? Thank goodness it’s not poisonous…
